A study in solar energy and outdoor furniture.

Project Radiance proposes a new take on both solar trees and tree seating for parks. Originally created with the intent to provide seating and safety features for playgrounds and parks, our solar tree takes advantage of the dual organic forms of tree and the geometry of technology to create a unique silhouette.  Project Radiance features LED light strips lining the lip of the hexagonal bench and charging ports powered by the five solar panels. In further iterations, the body of the tree and bench are steel; this prototype was 3D printed with silver PLA.
